On Thursday the 9th of April, three of our favourite bands – Town Portal, Alarmist and Cleft – all play the Wharf Chambers in Leeds.
Leeds – £5adv
It’s been a few months since we were last involved with a show in Leeds. But, with 2015 well and truly underway, we’re super happy to announce that, alongside champs Destroy All Monsters, we’ll be bringing three of our favourite math rock and instrumental bands to Leeds in April.
Since 2012, Copenhagen instrumentalists Town Portal have been one of math rock’s most well-received artists thanks the the success of their breakthrough release Chronopoly. A record which sees the seemless blending of off-kilter grooves, progressive songwriting, brutal turns and soaring unpredictability, their debut full-length is one of the best kept secrets in modern alternative music. And now, with a follow-up album in the works, the three-piece are finally coming over to the UK this Spring to bring their mastered works to the public.
Joining Town Portal on their short 4-date tour of England, are Alarmist. One of our absolute favourite band’s of 2014, last year saw the Dublin-based 4-piece impress with their sharp, intelligent and breathtakingly detailed music. Following their standout performance at ArcTanGent last August, the band started recording their debut full-length, which will no doubt surface towards the latter half of 2015.
A touring staple, and UK favourite, Manchester’s Cleft have grown to become a constant force in the experimental community, proving their ability and originality as both recording artists and live performers. A brilliant addition to any line-up, it’s an honour to have the riff-driven duo completing what is an undoubtedly superb line-up.
Town Portal, Alarmist and Cleft all play the Wharf Chambers in Leeds on the 9th of April – advance tickets are just £5, available from See Tickets and We Got Tickets.
